This song… It has been a while since I’ve heard it, and all of the feelings came flooding back. This is such an amazing album and changed my life and inspired me musically. Thank you Tool. #tool #aenima #anima #prog #rock #music

GLOBE AND BEAST announce debut album on Melotov Records
From San Diego, California, Globe and Beast announce the release of their debut album, Grandfather’s Axe, out March 19th on Melotov Records.
On Grandfather’s Axe, the young SoCal quintet churn out anthemic hardcore, shrouded in gloom. Theirs is a unique combination of vibes: the aggressive meets the dissonant, the crushing meets the dismal. Somewhere between the frontal assault of Buried Alive and the spiraling depression of Kiss It Goodbye or Cursed, songs lurch forward like a wall of black storm clouds devouring all in their path. What makes it thrilling is not only the destructive power but the ominous mood.
Atop pummeling drums and leaden riffs, frontman Blake Backer’s lyrics lay bare his personal demons. In “A River’s Mouth”, he roars: “We move like drones, slaves to a clock… / The monotony feels like a fucking curse / I see uncharted waters up ahead / They’re open, they’re endless, relentless / Destinations unknown / I hope I find peace, a place to call home.”
Grandfather’s Axe was recorded by Alex Estrada at The Earth Capital (Touche Amore, Xibalba) and mastered by Bill Henderson at Azimuth Mastering (Crazy Spirit, Perdition). The tracklist is as follows:
1. The Weight
2. Stays the Same
3. Hand of Glory
4. Body’s Sore
5. Actuality of Chaos
6. Days on Replay
7. Woven Deep Within
8. A River’s Mouth
12. Creatures of Habit
13. Grandfather’s Axe
Melotov Records, home to new upcoming releases by The Banner, Vices, and more, will release Grandfather’s Axe on vinyl on March 19th. Each LP includes a digital download and a limited number of “opaque bone” color LPs will be available.
Globe and Beast will hit the road this spring, including appearances at SXSW.

Such a good tune. I pre-ordered the album and t-shirt. I’m loving this.
Gig went well tonight. After us was No Small Children and they surely rocked. And now Audiokill is nailing the metal to flippin wall. Awesome. #rock #metal #livemusic #music
